THE 2nd ANNUAL OIL & GAS SECURITY 2013 SUMMIT TOOK PLACE ON THE 12th AND 13th
OF JUNE 2013 AT THE TOWER OF LONDON, DOUBLE TREE HILTON HOTEL.
With more than 80 companies represented and 130 delegates in attendance, IRN gathered an outstanding panel of experts from NATO, the European Commission, the Centre for Security Studies, GDF Suez, OMV and, Total amongst others, who provided attendees with detailed analysis of a number of major threats to international and national oil companies’ operations across the globe.
The In Amenas Hostage crisis, security of an IOC’s Columbian operations, cyber security and how it can impact your operational efficiency and formulating re-entry plans to difficult regions, such as Yemen, were just a few of the fascinating case studies that were covered over the highly informative two day event in London at OGS 2013.
The speaker faculty tended to agree that social media and information available on the global web could be for both an ally and an opponent to the IOCs, as it is a major source of information for both themselves and the groups that pose a threat to them.
The audience consisted of senior level representatives from TAQA, Baker Hughes, Bankers Petroleum Ltd., Betafence, BG Tunisia, Exxon Mobil, GDF Suez, Genel Energy, Husky Energy Inc, NCOC, Nexen Petroleum, OMV, Petrofac, Qatar Petroleum, Raytheon, Repsol, Rosneft, Shell International BV, Sonangol E&P, Statoil, Subsea 7, Total E&P and many others.
